IFA President was Invited to Attend the Seminar between Consulates General in Guangzhou and Guangdong Chambers of Commerce & Associations

In order to strengthen the communication and cooperation between the foreign Consulates General in Guangzhou and chambers of commerce, industrial association and relevant organizations in Guangdong Province, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province held a Seminar between Consulates General in Guangzhou and Guangdong Chambers of Commerce & Associations in Guangdong Foreign Economic and Trade Building on December 20, 2019. Guangdong Imported Food Association President Qi Yilong was invited to attend and deliver a speech.

Zheng Jianrong, Director-General of the Department, said that the main purpose of this seminar was to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between foreign Consulates General in Guangzhou and provincial chambers of commerce, industrial association and relevant organizations. On this foundation, the frequency of the seminar will be increased next year, which will further promote communication between the consulates and trade associations. At the same time, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province will hold more than 40 business forums overseas next year, hoping that the trade associations will play a leading role and actively participate in the development of trade economy in Guangdong Province. Now, as imported food has gradually become a necessity in our daily life, it is believed that the Food2China Expo held by IFA in September will take a good lead and it is hoped that the trade associations will continue to hold more different types of specialized forums.

IFA President Qi mentioned, in the meeting, that it was a great honor to have the opportunity to participate in this seminar, and that IFA also hoped to take this opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with various countries around the world. In recent years, the development trend of imported food industry is very favourable, as the demand of imported food in China is increasing continuously. Guangdong Imported Food Association has been hoping to lead its member units to go around the world to select more high-quality food with affordable prices, and bring them to everyone.

Finally, Ma Hua, Deputy Director-General of the Department, pointed out in his concluding remarks that the import and export trade of Guangdong Province ranks first in China. In the future, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province will continue to strengthen the promotion of import and export and increase the development of import and export trade. In the meantime, Guangdong Imported Food Association will follow the pace of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province to strengthen the trade development of imported food industry, so as to contribute to the economic and trade construction of Guangdong Province.
